Who I Am. I have a private counseling practice in Lacey, Washington where
I see individuals, couples, and families. In my comfortable office
I create a quiet and safe atmosphere for you and your loved ones
in which conversations can be carried out in privacy.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the Washington Department
of Health, License Number LH00009712. I have also met the demanding requirements
of the National Board of Certified Counselors and am a National Certified
Counselor, certification number 21299. I hold a Master of Arts Degree
in Applied Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Counseling from Bastyr
University's School of Applied Behavioral Science. In obtaining this
degree I completed a rigorous course of study in human behavior and clinical
counseling. Additionally I have successfully completed a nine-month supervised
clinical internship in a community mental health agency in which I gained
experience in providing individual, couple, family, and group counseling
for a wide range of mental health problems. I also have a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from The Evergreen State College.
I have completed a significant number of post-graduate training hours
in counseling of individuals, couples, families, domestic violence, sexual
assault treatment and advocacy, and trauma treatment. Additionally I
have received post-graduate training in the treatment of adult and adolescent
Asperger's Disorder.
I have attended the National Threat Assessment Seminar presented by the
Secret Service in which assessment of family, workplace, and individual
violence was examined. I have acted as an advisor to the Washington Association
of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs on domestic violence issues.

Sam
Sam is my therapy partner. Sam is a graduate of the Bothell Academy
of Canine Behavior and has significant experience in tummy rubs,
ear scratching, and kisses. Sam is currently working on his certification
as a therapy dog.
